i've heard the occasional grumble about the foremost field called the village.as the guy with the power equipment, what do you players think of this field. what does it need?what can it do without?i realize the "close" side has a tremendous tactical disadvantage, so what would you guys like to see happen there?less fencing? more open ground? low bunkers that are staggered? im open to ideas-let your voice be heard here at the only true players field!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That bridge in the back needs some "TLC".
I think the more i play the village the more i like it (i guess i am still figureing it out too), the swampy area kinda throughs a kink in moving either way with any kind of cover throught there.

Clear out some of the falling down fencing, and put up a nice wooden pillbox covered with the camo netting thats being used to cover the lockers to the right just as you pass the porto potty. Did i mention getting rid of the falling down fencing? Well here is a link of what i think would be a good addition to the field. www.vickersgun.com/images/Moir-pillbox-near-Lille-gat.jpg

so....the fencing, huh?lol actually, i brought that camo netting down to gebb a few years back,im surprised he hasnt used it up yet!!! i've been thinking about the hut idea alot lately, and it seems im not the only one. something along the lines of circle city at skirmish, but a little more realistic for the 'nam theme.i would love to build some new bridges here and there, but isnt a new bridge that leads to a shithole bunker kind of counter productive? i'd like to build it into the new complex so its intergrated to the look of whatever we decide to replace the russian fort with,as no one seems to like it anymore.im tossing the idea of a big temple there, that helped "supply" the zips.slowly, as money permits, these things will happen and the field will get better.all i need is a couple extra bucks for nails for the nail gun, and the "armored car" that won the most votes will begin construction where the crackhouse is.

also, when in south america, we ran across this old village in the jungle, look mayan or something.it was really cool, but it doesnt fit in there.what do you guys think of building some pillboxes to look like jeeps? the trouble im having with the redisgn of the close side of the village has to do with elevation.if i build pillboxes/jeeps/huts low to ground as they should be, they become useless because of the fencing.you're going to need something along the creek thats of reasonable height for cover, but then the low stuff is unusable. i want to map out the ranges of your guns please, for the sake of placement of structures,as i would really love to even out the playing field for both sides.the far side has three big bunkers that are long-ball capable already, the close side really doesnt have that

thats a good idea to calculate the distance of our guns into the placement of bunkers and such. If we put up a couple pillboxes and a new temple or some type of larger building, that would be an awesome addition to the field. I'm up for helping out. Maybe make the pillboxes kind of high so you can almost stand up and shoot out. And make them open all the way around for 360 degree firing angles. maybe make the opening 8" high to cut down on the amount of paint the defenders have to worry about. Make it hard to take. I see lots of smoke !!!!

Oh Hellfire, about the bridge, those 2 telophone poles out front of the field are supposed to be for the bridge. We haven't quite figured out how to get them back there without killing ourselves in the process. Any ideas? If i had a four wheeler i would drag them back. I will check around for cement blocks, they might be a good base for a new bridge.

gebb was talking about building a "dock" for the boats out of the telephone poles, but i agree with the bridge idea,as we need something that will last, and be safe.all we need to do is chainsaw notches in them to keep them fron rolling

A Field Suggestion would be have a banner or sign to put infront for Group shots. Even if it's something like that red sign thats out by the road.

does anyone have a canvas tarp? ? we should be able to make something up on the cheap. i do housepainting, but i dont use them,i go freeball so to speak.but...... what if we make some lettering, and sew it on my netting that is in the staging area, or use the camo netting with white lettering? that could look cool.maybe we could finally put that thing to use!!!!
